Terrance Howard to star in Hustle & Flow 2?

Since the success of “Hustle & Flow”, rumors have spread that the script for Hustle & Flow 2 has been stated to be completed and reportedly Terrence Howard and all the cast have been signed back for the sequel.

Craig Brewer’s film “Hustle & Flow” was filmed in Memphis and released in 2005. Memphis rappers Three 6 Mafia in March won an Academy Award for best song for “It’s Hard Out Here for a Pimp” at the 78th annual Academy Awards. The movie which starred Terrance Howard, who played a pimp named DJay in the film, was nominated for an academy award for best performance by an actor in a leading role. Since the success of “Hustle & Flow”, rumors have spread that the script for Hustle & Flow 2 has been stated to be completed and reportedly Terrence Howard and all the cast have been signed back for the sequel.

Any questions you may have had for the last one will more than likely be answered in the sequel, this is what was reported. Filming was also reported to start later this year or sometime next year, although this has not been confirmed.

In related news, currently Memphis director Craig Brewer is in hopes to be in production on ‘Maggie Lynn’ before year’s end. The movie is based on the life of country singer Maggie Lynn. “Maggie Lynn” follows a woman who gets her heart broken and achieves a sense of self-worth by returning home to Tennessee, where she teams with her older brother to play country music in honkytonks.

Stephanie Allain and John Singleton will produce, and Scott Bomar will score.
