The Homecoming football game and event for Memphis/Shelby County high school, Southwind High School, has been cancelled after a series of fights broke out today.
Police are investigating whether the fights are linked to a shooting that happened off campus last night.
At least five students were arrested or at least taken in for questioning, following the fights.
Shelby County Sheriff’s Office deputies are seeking information in connection with the fights and shooting.
Of the students arrested all but one 18 year old are juveniles.
Parents lined up at the school today to pick up their children after the incident.
Meanwhile, the school has postponed Friday night’s homecoming game for a later date.
