Coach Clarence D. Stokes, the Memphis, TN head basketball coach for the Raleigh-Egypt High School boy’s basketball team, the Pharaohs, died at the school on Thursday.
Stokes, 47, started coaching at Raleigh-Egypt in 2010.
Prior to becoming the head basketball coach for the Raleigh-Egypt Pharaohs, Stokes coached at Craigmont.
Stokes was found inside the school’s cafeteria after classes had been dismissed for the day.
Paramedics arrived but could not revive Stokes who died in the school’s cafeteria.
At this time there has been no cause of death determined or announced by the Shelby County Schools spokesperson.
