Applications For UPN’S SUPERMODEL SHOW (Tentative Title) Can Be Obtained Exclusively at UPN.com
UPN teams up with Tyra Banks to begin the search for America’s next supermodel. Application forms for the first ever UPN’S SUPERMODEL SHOW (tentative title), a new dramality series that gives everyday people from across the nation an opportunity to compete for a modeling contract, are available exclusively at www.UPN.com will be accepted through November 22, 2002.
Females, ages 18 to 27, of diverse backgrounds, shapes and sizes, are eligible to compete, although applicants need to be a minimum of at least 5? 7? tall. Each application must be accompanied by a three-minute videotape demonstrating why the applicant believes she could be America?s next supermodel. Additionally, open casting calls will be conducted at participating UPN stations across the country in order to provide hopefuls with a means to make a three-minute videotape. Participants should have no professional modeling experience.
Producers will review applications and narrow them down to a group of semi-finalists. A final cut-down will form the group of eight finalists who will live together in a New York residence to participate in the midseason series to be broadcast on UPN.
The series will feature an intensive modeling boot camp where participants learn to master complicated cat walks, intense physical fitness and fashion photos shoots as well as perfect publicity skills, all under 24-hour-a-day surveillance of the UPN’S SUPERMODEL SHOW cameras. The series will chronicle every move of eight finalists who will be trained by an elite group of the industry’s top photographers, stylists and agencies.
Banks will be a celebrity judge on a panel of experts and oversee the competitions. The panel will conduct regular evaluations to narrow the field from week-to-week until two finalists go head-to-head in a spring fashion show to determine the next great supermodel. The finalists will be awarded a super-sized contract with one of the world?s top modeling agencies.
