Memphis Tigers Football QB, FedEx Founder’s Son Cannon Smith Arrested (Mugshot)

Son of FedEx (FDX Corporation) founder Fred Smith and Memphis Tigers Football team quarterback Frederick Cannon Smith, 23, was arrested on Beale Street in Downtown Memphis, TN after allegedly challenging Memphis Police to a fight.

The 23 years-old, Frederick Cannon Smith, was reportedly intoxicated and inebriated, when he fancied a duel with the officers.

This apparently isn’t the first time that Cannon Smith has been in trouble with the law. In ’06, Smith was arrested for being in possession of the drug ecstasy.

Cannon Smith is being charged with disorderly conduct and public intoxication after not wanting to pay a cab driver his fare and asking the police officers if they wanted to take him on in a fight.

Meanwhile, U of M’s head coach Larry Porter made sure to let everyone know that they will not be making any decisions until everything has been investigated, while bloggers online are suspecting that his father Frederick ‘Fred’ Smith will clean up after him.

Smith was released on a $100 bond and was arraigned today.

A new court date has been set for January 28, 2011.
