A 21 year-old Collierville man was arrested after attempting to sexually assault an underage teenage girl student at a University library in Memphis, TN.
Olumide Adedipe, was placed under arrest after the 17 year-old victim reported that she was fondled by Adedipe and screamed before he attempted to rape her.
Allegedly the teen victim who takes two classes with Adedipe had agreed to meet in the library to study, but it seems that Adedipe may have had other thoughts.
The incident happened at the Christina Brothers University campus library on Thursday, September 26.
Olumide Adedipe had an incident to occur at the University of Memphis reportedly twice in March; once for following, harassing and knocking food out of another student’s hand and then for assaulting a female student and stealing a cellphone phone from a dorm. Adedipe is accused of exposing himself to the teen victim and touching her inappropriately.
Just in August, Olumide Adedipe was arrested at Christian Brothers University for disorderly conduct by police.
Meanwhile, Christian Brothers University state that it considers their campus to be very safe and that they do from time to time experience criminal acts like any other university.
“We work to ensure safety by providing proper lighting for the grounds, establishing proactive patrols, and maintaining a network of surveillance cameras. Please remember that the Campus Police & Safety department is 24 hours, 7 days a week and always available for you.,” stated President of CBU, John Smarrelli Jr., Ph.D.
Olumide Adedipe was charged with two counts of criminal attempted rape and two counts of sexual battery.
