Memphis rapper Meechy Meech laid to rest after New Orleans double murder

Demekrtic Whitfield-Anderson, also known as Memphis rapper Meechy Meech, was laid to rest on Monday after being killed in a double homicide in New Orleans.

Demekrtic Trammell ‘Meechy Meech’ Whitfield-Anderson’s funeral was held January 6, 2014 at 12 noon at Harold Ford Chapel in Memphis, TN.

Whitfield-Anderson was shot and killed a day before New Year’s Eve along with Tacara Moss-Williams, 25, on Monday, December 30, 2013 in Metairie in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, a part of the New Orleans metropolitan area.

One man has been arrested already with the connection of the shooting deaths of Whitfield-Anderson and Williams, as reported on

Garard “Herc” Achelles, 27, of New Orleans was booked on two counts of second degree murder while two other men have warrants issued for their arrests also in connection with the double homicide.

Detectives are seeking the whereabouts of Glenn ‘Ace’ Lemon, 30, of Jefferson Parish, and Jason ‘Jay’ Thomas, 21, of New Orleans.

Demekrtic Whitfield-Anderson was 29 years-old at the time of his death.
