Hip Hop mogul and music producer Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine, founders of Beats Electronics, may become senior executives at Apple following a possible $3.2 billion acquisition of their company by the computer, electronics and digital technology giant.
As reported on MemphisRap.com, the Beats Electronic company, which owns the Beats By Dre headphones brand and streaming music company Beats Music may possibly be selling their company to Apple.
Following the reports of the possible acquisition by Apple, which came with no official confirmation, Dr. Dre was seen in a video which looked like a celebration of the done deal.
With the acquisition of Apple, Dr. Dre could possibly become hip-hop’s first billionaire, sources say.
Meanwhile, it looks like if the deal goes through, Apple plans to still keep on the founders behind the successful Beats brand to help run it under the new Apple brand as senior executives.
And do what at apple? explain to people how to sell a nicely designed product that is overpriced, has decent but not exceptional performance for the price, has nothing innovative about it and….well…
Really only rational explanation is to use Beats as an under 25 entry brand for hardware.
