Over the weekend, Crave Nightclub and Lounge also known as Club Crave located off Beale St. and 4th was subjected to a triple shooting which left one dead in the wee hours of Christmas Eve. This isn’t the first time the club nor it’s location has had a shooting or outbreak of violence before.
According to Memphis Police, two victims were found shot and a third victim was shot in the head and was pronounced dead at the Regional Medical Center (MED).
A fourth victim, who is stated to have been trampled by patrons attempting to get back into Club Crave following the gunfire, was transported to the Methodist University Hospital.
The shooting incident reportedly happened at 3AM after Memphis rapper Yo Gotti had left his hosted Christmas party at the nightclub, where the rapper was giving away $10,000 in cash in a raffle.
This is the latest of Club Crave incidents which follows behind an October shooting were a man was shot following a brawl outside the nightclub as reported on MemphisRap.com.
In December of 2011, a 24 year-old man was stabbed after an argument outside the club which left him in critical condition.
The venue, which is being occupied by promoters TwinzNControl, who moved in August of 2011 are not the first tenants at that location to endure a number of violent outbreaks. The previous tenants, Plush Club, also had their share of brawls and complaints which led it to being shut down in 2010 after four police officers suffered from injuries and over 100 people were in a fight.
Meanwhile, Beale Street Merchants have been begging that Club Crave at 380 Beale St be shut down after they have endured years of shootings, fights and stabbings taking place at the location and that something else other than a nightclub be placed there.
