Seton Hall’s basketball coach Bobby Gonzalez was fired early Wednesday morning. The firing of Gonzalez came just a day after the college lost, a heartbreaker to Texas Tech, in the NIT tournament. It is said that Seton Hall was fed up with Gonzalez’s actions on and off the court which led to his removal. After just a 19-win season, Seton Hall felt that he was not getting it done at a high level.
Gonzalez had anger problems also which showed in Tuesday’s 87-69 loss to Texas Tech. Steamed about his star forward Herb Pope being ejected from the game in the 1st half for punching a Texas Tech player in the groins, Gonzalez picked up his 7th technical. To add insult to injury, earlier this week, his ex forward Robert Mitchell was arrested for allegedly committing an armed robbery. There is no word on the next moves of Gonzalez but we all wish him the best for him and his family.
