Two Memphis Police Officers Shot, 1 Dead After Serving Drug Related Search Warrant

During a delivery of a drug search warrant in Memphis, TN, two Memphis police officers were struck with one dying after being shot in a shooting or rather shootout in East Memphis.

Officer Martoiya Lang, 32, of the Organized Crime Unit died Friday morning after serving a drug related search warrant with officer William Vromah, 32, at a home located at 1062 Mendenhall Cove in East Memphis.

Police Director Toney Armstrong stated during a press conference, that a suspect fired at the two officers therefore the officers drew their weapons and returned fire hitting one of the suspects. The condition of the suspect is critical, another suspect who was in the home was taken into custody.

Officer William Vromah, who has been with the MPD since 2007, was shot multiple times and is currently at the Regional Medical Center in stable condition.

Officer Martoiya Lang leaves behind four children. Lang had been with the force since 2003.
