On last week, a 16 year-old teen boy was charged after being accused of raping an 18 year-old female special education student at East High School on Poplar Ave in Memphis, TN.
The 18 year-old female student who had been allegedly put out of class for bringing in food was raped when she went to eat her food in the stairwell.
According to reports, the 16 yr-old male student forced her down the stairs, slapped and forced her to the ground after locking the stairwell doors.
The female victim was only discovered after a classmate saw that she had been missing from class and went to go look for her. The friend reportedly heard her screaming and immediately went to get help.
Detectives were called to the scene after the 18 year-old victim had been taken to The MED after complaining of stomach pains.
Meanwhile, the 16 year-old male student was charged with aggravated rape and taken into custody at Juvenile Court and transported to 201 Poplar without bond. The teen was later released on his own recognizance.
So far, Shelby County School officials say that they are taking the allegation of criminal assault serious.
