Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane has been sentenced to three additional years in prison for his assault involving the rapper hitting a man over the head with a vodka bottle.
Details of the case reveal that the man assaulted by Gucci Mane in a Downtown Atlanta nightclub, Harlem Nights Ultra Lounge, on last year, was an army staff sergeant who simply wanted a picture with the rapper.
Apparently, while on a brief military leave, the army sergeant was in town and at the same night club when Gucci Mane was there with his crew sitting in VIP.
At some point, the sergeant is said to have walked up to the VIP area where Gucci Mane was looking to get a snapshot with the rapper when, according to a statement by District Attorney Paul Howard, Gucci Mane, real name Radric Davis, hit the victim over the head with a vodka bottle for no apparent reason and then quickly left the club.
The sergeant was left with a deep laceration in his head requiring ten stitches.
The rapper is currently serving a 39 month sentence and isn’t expected to be released possibly until 2016.
