A 22-year-old has been charged in the murder of Memphis rapper LePreston Porter, better known by his stage name Snootie Wild, who was shot and killed in February while visiting Houston, Texas.
Ivory Duke Williams, 22, the suspect, was charged with murder in the 185th State District Court.
According to reports, the woman informed Houston investigators that several people had attempted to rescue her after her automobile allegedly became trapped in a ditch. Before leaving the area on foot, the woman claimed that Snootie Wild approached her and pointed a gun at her.
The Houston Police reported that the woman heard gunshots as she fled the scene, but she was unaware that Snootie Wild had been shot.
Porter passed away from his wounds after being rushed to the hospital in severe condition.
Further inquiry led to the identification of the suspect as Ivory Duke Williams. He was taken into custody on Wednesday.
Snootie Wild was 36.
