A local Memphis church is set to bring the New Year in with hip hop and special guests.
Praise Fellowship Church (PFC) is set to give guests of their event “a party to celebrate” as they bring in the New Year, according to Pastor Barrett Watson.
“It’s a party to celebrate our God for bringing us through 2014, we all know someone who didn’t make it. We also want to pray for God’s protection, favor and His will be done in our lives in 2015,” states Pastor Barrett Watson.
The church, which has been in ministry for one year and considers themselves an ‘outside of the box ministry’ is located in the Southeast area of Winchester and Getwell.
The church has brought on the likes of Christian/Holy Hip Hop artist F.R.O. of Fro Ministries as entertainment, among other guests.
When asked what message does PFC wish to deliver, Pastor Watson states that he wants to push the message that “Jesus is relevant today” but while many may view his modern approach as different from the traditional church, Watson doesn’t view it that way.
“What is a traditional church?,” asks Watson while adding “the body of Christ is made up of people from all backgrounds. A church is a group of believers. At PFC, we simply worship God and labor to build lives, maybe the simplicity of our vision is unique.”
F.R.O. is not the only form of entertainment PFC plans to offer. The church will have guest speakers and more.
Also, PFC states that there will be more following their New Year’s Eve ‘Watch Night Service,’ such as their upcoming Superbowl Party.
Meanwhile, Praise Fellowship Church’s New Year’s Eve Watch Night Service, featuring F.R.O. and guests, starts at 9:45PM, December 31, 2014 at 3845 Viscount Ave.
This event is FREE to the public. Free food and refreshments will also be available. All are welcome.
