If you’re from Memphis then you already know that Midtown is the heart of the city and full of down-to-earth; talented people. Craig Brewer, creator of Hustle and Flow knows this to be true also. That’s why he has based his new MTV series on the talent of Midtown Memphis. They say with every song has a story and he has brought this saying to life. “$5 Cover is a rough-and-tumble show set in the clubs, all-nite cafes, and no-tell motels of present-day Memphis. The series follows a cast of young musicians as they fight for love, inspiration, and money to pay the rent.” It states on the website, that each character plays themselves and performs their own music. Some of the cast include Al Kapone, Muck Sticky, Amy Laverne and many more.

Memphisrap.com’s DeAnna Brown will also be in Park City on vacation and hopes to capture some of the excitement. We wish all of them luck and and can’t wait to see Memphis on the big screen once more.
