Denny Hamlin Drove From Victory Lane To Surgery

We all saw when Denny Hamlin drove right into 1st place to win his Victory Lane. However, we did not know the actual significance of that day. Instead of Hamlin being in a operating room having surgery, he was in a race car beating the brakes off of everyone else.

Hamlin was set to have surgery on his torn ACL in his left knee. With an injury playing basketball back in January, he was trying to wait for the end of the season to get it operated on.

“I was actually going to try to do it after the race, but now we have Victory Lane celebrations, so I can’t do it,” Hamlin said. “It’s a good thing for us.”

Denny set Wednesday as the next date for his surgery. The next race isn’t until April 10th, so if Hamlin has the operation, he will probably be back and ready for war once again.

“Trust me, when I come back, I’m going to come back strong,” he said.

We will see if he shows up.
