Pimp C’s Mother Says Rapper Was Excited About Latest Project

Pimp C’s mother said she spoke with her son the week before his death and he was excited about his latest project, a collaboration with Oscar-winning rap group Three 6 Mafia.

Pimp C’s mother, Weslyn “Mama Wes” Monroe, said she spoke with her son the week before his death and he was excited about his latest project, a collaboration with Oscar-winning rap group Three 6 Mafia according to the Houston Chronicle. This comes at no surprise since as previously reported on MemphisRap.com, the Southern rap icon, Pimp C stated in a heated interview with Atlanta’s 107.9 that Atlanta knows good and well that “Crunk” music was started by Three 6 Mafia.

The rapper spoke highly of the group (Three 6 Mafia) on more than a couple occasions and did not keep it a secret about how he felt. “Anybody out there doing crunk music needed to be sending a shout out to 3-6 Mafia cause, ya’ll know that’s where that came from,” Pimp C also stated in an interview.

This is probably why the rapper was excited about his latest project and collaboration with the Memphis rap group.

Pimp C’s latest project might have been with Three Six Mafia, but the rapper’s latest performance was actually the Saturday before his death with Oakland based rapper Too Short.

In related news, Pimp C’s cause of death is still undetermined as according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department who confirmed in a recent statement that homicide detectives were “continuing their investigation.”
