Memphis, TN (Rap Newswire) March 14, 2006 – The First 48 is a documentary series that follows the first 48 hours of a homicide investigation. It airs on A&E Thursday nights at 8pm central: http://www.aetv.com/the_first_48/index.jsp Currently we are filming detectives in Memphis and would very much like to feature local music in our program. We are looking for musicians who would allow us to use their music in exchange for a credit in our program and nationwide exposure. The music must be original and the musicians and/ or the record label must own the rights.
We are interested in all genres of music, but due to the subject matter we have very little need for music that is upbeat and happy. So we are predominantly looking for music that could be described as any of the following: suspenseful, tense, intense, sad, moody, mysterious, violent, creepy, dark, dramatic, beat-driven, cinematic, etc. Both instrumental and lyric-based songs are welcome. Lyrics about Memphis, homicide/ murder, guns, death, police, drugs, etc. are especially useful.
