Memphis Rapper, Mac Critter, Signed To Gucci Mane’s 1017 Charged With Murder Along With Two Others

After unintentionally getting freed from jail without bond, the guy who was charged with murder for fatally shooting an innocent man was detained once again.

Gary Taylor, 26, also known as “Lil Gary,” was one of four guys who were engaged in the shooting, according to an affidavit.

On December 21, a deadly shooting took place in an empty area close to 660 Wells Ave. in North Memphis.

Records indicate that on Thursday, police detained Gary Taylor on suspicion of first-degree murder.

However, according to court records, he was released on his own recognizance on Saturday.

Gary Taylor was detained once more on the day he was scheduled to appear in court for a bail hearing.

Gary Taylor isn’t the only one charged with the murder, though.

Court papers state that Danterio Owens, 27, and Daniel Bates, 25, also known as “Mac Critter,” are both accused of first-degree murder.

Bates is from Memphis and is signed to Gucci Mane’s 1017 record label.

Arthur Horne, Bates’ lawyer, expressed his surprise when his client was denied bond.

My client should have received a bail, I thought,” Horne told Fox 13 Memphis.

Bate’s attorney stated that in the affidavit, it is claimed that although he was present, he was not the shooter. Gary Taylor was the suspected shooter when he was released on bail. Attorney Horne went on to say that he had hoped they would receive bond, but they didn’t.

All accused are expected to return to court on January 10 and will all stay behind bars.
