Grand Theft Auto IV is one the most highly anticipated video games of the year and is expected to generate more than $400 million in sales over its first week alone.
Take-Two Interactive Software Inc., the publisher of Grand Theft Auto Series and Rockstar Games shares have reportedly went up 3.4 percent and have been receiving rave reviews by critics which spells out success for the company. Users have also been posting videos on the Internet of sex scenes from the game where the players character can drive prostitutes to secluded locations.
Recently the company was offered a $2 billion dollar bid offer by EA (Electronic Arts), but in response to the bid offer the Board of Directors rejected the offer from EA stating, “inadequate in multiple respects and not in the best interests of Take-Two’s stockholders.”
The game releases April 29, 2008 worldwide except for in Japan. After the release of Grand Theft Auto, Take-Two has stated that they will be discussing a deal with suitors on Wednesday which will include EA who has made a previous offer too low.
