The heads of Nashville based Southern Hip-Hop Publication, Concrete Magazine, have decided to expand their magazine publication outside of it’s Nashville base.
“I always respected the magazine since it’s been circulating in Nashville. I figured I had to bring it to Memphis and put a spin on it,” stated Cory Sparks of STP Music Group and SIT Marketing, the company which heads up the magazine. “We decided to franchise the Concrete Magazine brand.”
The Memphis version of the magazine is expected to publish content on local talent, businesses, radio stations and other features pertaining to the Memphis culture.
“We are really excited. We are working with some great people,” stated Bryan Deese, the magazine’s Nashville Editor-in-Chief in regards to Ricardo Hunter and Tierney Hendricks who will head up the media and sales of the Memphis edition. “They are a very knowledgeable team who are in the know about trends and young America. They are very capable to make it a go. Memphis is a great market to support such a magazine,” added Deese.
Concrete Magazine is expected to hit stands April 15th. In the first edition of the magazine, it is expected to feature a special edition titled “Kings and Queens of Memphis”.
