CNN’s reporter Richard Quest, 46, was arrested for loitering in Central Park after being caught there after curfew on Friday.
Richard Quest was charged with loitering and criminal possession of a controlled substance, but even though the CNN reporter did have on somewhat of a lewd outfit, he was not charged with indecent exposure because he was not exposing himself.
Sources stated, the unidentified person with Quest was given a summons for not carrying any identification.
Quest’s lawyer, Alan Abramson, stated that, “Mr. Quest didn’t realize that the park had a curfew” and that “he was simply returning to his hotel with friends.”
At a hearing in Manhattan Criminal Court, Quest appeared before State Court Judge Anthony Ferrara and agreed to undergo six months of drug counseling in return for a dismissal of his misdemeanor charges which will be dropped and the case sealed if he stays out of trouble and completes his drug program.
Quest was released from prison with no bail after spending most of the day in jail.
The well-known CNN news reporter is on CNN International and also hosts “CNN Business Traveler,” as well as his own show “Quest”. Quest is described by the cable news network in his bio as “one of the most instantly recognizable members of the CNN team.”
