Angela Bryant, sister of Def Jam South Records producer and former Cash Money Records producer Mannie Fresh (Byron O. Thomas), was found gunned down.
She was reported found in her home Thursday morning according to New Orleans local news station WWL-TV, however, police believe Bryant was killed Wednesday evening between 10 p.m. and midnight.
Relatives told police the family dined together in a restaurant Wednesday evening to celebrate Bryant’s birthday.
The newlywed husband was out of town at the time of the crime but arrived in New Orleans on yesterday. The couple married around one month ago. As reported, Bryant’s two children, ages 2 and 7, were in the home during the murder but are reported safe and unharmed.
Mannie Fresh is reportedly making his way back to New Orleans from Texas after hearing news of his sister’s tragic death.
Police reportedly states it’s too early to determine whether or not it was a home invasion or if Bryant knew her killers, because they confirmed there was no signs of forced entry.
“We are still working on the motive.” Said SUPT. Warren Riley of the New Orleans Police Department.
“We do have some limited information relative to leads at this point, but it’s still very early at this point.” He continued.
Police are currently searching for Bryant’s black 1998 Lexus LS 400, license plate # PTF205, which turned up missing after her murder.
