“Nothing Was The Same,” or will be the same when Drake, who recently announced a partnership with Nike, releases his version of OVO Air Jordans.
The news comes after the rapper made an announcement while in Portland, OR for a performance that he had formed a partnership with Nike’s Air Jordan division.
To add to the recent announcement, Drake released pictures of some of his OVO Air Jordan samples via Instagram which have soles featuring the OVO symbol along with the Michael Jordon emblem. Many of the kicks also feature Drake’s signature OVO colors of gold and black.
Drake becoming a part of the Nike Jordan family comes on the heels of when Kanye West made a bid to say farewell after expressing that he was not pleased with Nike for being unwilling to give him royalities or set-up a small facility so he can continue with his creative fashion concoctions.
Nike ultimately told Kanye West no and he wasn’t a professional athlete. From what Kanye West says he’s just looking out for his family and if he’s not getting any royalties — baby North is what it boils down to 10 years from now.
Meanwhile as Kanye West severes ties with Nike, Drake is excited about the new OVO Stingray 12’s Samples and the OVO Stingray 10’s Samples he shared proudly with fans.
He’s home. Welcome the newest member of #TeamJordan: @Drake
