Miss B has been making her rounds for her new tour performing live at concerts along with the likes of artists such as Jive Recording artist Trai’D and more. The tour entitled “Miss B Invades Your College Campus Tour,” which has had stops in Atlanta at Georgia College and Albany at Albany State University landed at Xavier University in New Orleans on April 4th with Miss B performing in concert with Atlantic recording artist Trey Songz.
One of Memphis rap’s newest and active female emcee’s, Miss B, who just recently released her new video “Fall Up In Da Club” at the beginning of this year, took time out during her tour stop at Xavier University to talk in a brief interview with D Rock about how she got started in the game and more.
“I been doing music ever since I can remember… started out singing, realized I couldn’t sing so I said I’d rap,” stated Miss B. “So I pursued that probably for about 7 years or so, but in 2005 it got really really serious. What was the pivotal point in my career was when I auditioned for a guy named MeMpHiTz,” she added.
Mickey “MeMpHiTz” Wright (read more), Vice President of A&R at Jive Records and CEO of Hitz Committee, is the man responsible for jump starting the careers of artists such as T-Pain, Huey, the Youngbloodz and more.
Miss B states that it was MeMpHiTz who really pushed her to go forward.
Xavier University was the last official stop for the “Miss B Invades Your College Campus Tour,” according to Miss B, but she’s still making another stop May 2nd at Jackson State with possible additional dates added later.
