”Last Days of Left Eye” to air on VH1 with exclusive footage


VH1 will be airing a documentary on the life of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes who died at the age of 30 in 2002 after a fatal car accident in Honduras.

VH1 will be airing a documentary on the life of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes who died at the age of 30 in 2002 after a fatal car accident in Honduras. “Left Eye” is known from the best-selling female Hip-Hop/R&B music group (trio) TLC (an abbreviation for “T-Boz, Left Eye, Chilli”) which consisted of Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas. The Atlanta, Georgia music group was signed to LaFace Records through a production deal with R&B singer Peri “Pebbles” Reid with their last album 3D being released shortly after the death of “Left Eye.”

The documentary entitled the “Last Days of Left Eye” will air on May 19th at 9 pm (ET/PT) on VH1 and will feature exclusive footage which has never been seen leading up to her final moments of life.

The documentary was produced and directed by writer and director Lauren Lazin who is an Academy Award nominee. Lauren Lazin is known for directing the film in Hip-Hop music artist Tupac “2 Pac” Shakur “Tupac Resurrection in 2003.”

According to sources in February 2007, Chilli’s rumored first single, “Straight Jack”, was leaked to the internet and was included on a mixtape. For T-Boz, after leaving husband/rapper Mac 10 after being together for almost 4 years T-Boz, is stated to now be busy raising their daughter Chase with her current boyfriend football player Takeo Spikes.
