American Idol Season 6 Winner Is Jordin Sparks

Even though both were good at how they won over viewers on the TV screen, only one could win the hearts of America and that was Jordin Sparks.

For the sixth season of American Idol, Jordin Sparks wins as the next “American Idol” with fans casting a world record of over 74 million votes. The final two competitors – Jordin Sparks and Blake Lewis went head to head inorder to win the the title and a recording contract.

While many onlookers and industry people had already predicted the winner for the season finale, everyone now is guessing how will they compete in the shark infested music industry which has been battling with declining sales of CD since the digital world has taken over.

Even though both were good at how they won over viewers on the TV screen, only one could win the hearts of America and that was Jordin Sparks.

Since the beginning of the show Jordin Sparks has been having her high and low moments, while Blake tried to win everyone with being radically different with his hip-hop originated beatboxing. On the final talent showcase night, Tuesday proved a great night for Jordin Sparks due to it being the first time ever in the competition her voice showed that she can hang with the big girls and boys like Melinda Doolittle who everyone believed deserved to be one of the two in the finale.

Blake on the other hand had nothing he could give, nothing but an entertaining performance. Unlike Tuesday night on Wednesday night Blake Lewis did much better with the help of legendary Doug E. Fresh.

Since the reign of American Idol the show has been nothing merely but a who is more popular contest and with the last two standing for season six it proved just that.

A recap of the night included performances by artists Smokie Robinson, Bette Midler, Gladys Knight, Doug E. Fresh, Cee-Cee & BeBe Winans, Gwen Stefani, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard and others. Jordan Sparks closed the show with her performance of the song “This Is My Now”.
