CGI Entertainment’s, Club Premier Says, ‘It Was The Biggest Night We Ever Had’

Hands down one of the most influential contributors to Nightlife in Memphis for the urban club goer, CGI will continue to offer its followers more to look forward to in the future.

As we reported last week, CGI Entertainment’s Club Premier opened its doors for the last time this past Sunday, July 29th, 2007.

All weekend you could hear promotions about the end of this era for CGI entertainment. On Sunday evening around 7:45 p.m. Curtis Givens, establisher of the Premier, promoter and entrepreneur could be heard on Memphis’ Hot 107.1, during a quick interview.

In addition to encouraging the city and surrounding areas to come out and support the Premier’s success and closing, Givens also gave the ladies and “old heads,”-as he referred to my generation-something special to look forward to. Ladies were admitted free all night and if you were born in the 70’s he assured you’d have a great time because the DJ would be rocking throw-backs like Jay-Z and R. Kelly’s, Fiesta and Sunshine Anderson’s, Heard It All Before.

Undoubtedly, the city and tri-state area heard the call out and responded accordingly. At 5:00 a.m. Monday morning the Memphis Police Department was still out ensuring safe passage for late club goers and parking lot congregates.

Though, we were unable to get a solid number of exactly how many people attended the clubs closing, Curtis Givens said, via phone interview, “they had to shut the streets off at 12 [a.m.]. It was the biggest night we ever had.”

Hands down one of the most influential contributors to Nightlife in Memphis for the urban club goer, CGI will continue to offer its followers more to look forward to in the future. Some upcoming events include: Universal Motown Records/Rap Hustlaz artist Nakia Shine’s Album Release Party at Club Fire & Ice, 6430 Winchester, Memphis, TN 38115, August 5th 2007, the All Black Affair- Thanksgiving Day Weekend and the opening of Level 2 Nightclub.
