Ike was not actually filing a lawsuit, but somehow the statement about a $5,000 dress suit got turned up in reports as a $5,000 lawsuit.
Phillip Arnold the manager for Ike Turner contacted MemphisRap.com about the recent story reported and stated that Ike was not actually filing a lawsuit, but somehow the statement about a $5,000 dress suit got turned up in reports as a $5,000 lawsuit.
“Please let folks know that the reference here is to his $5,000 suit of clothes that he had to go pick up from the jail he was held in overnight. He was released in the jump suit. I said that he was coming from the BMI (Black Tie) Awards Dinner, and was in a $5000 suit, and he would go get it for sure. Somehow this got construed to mean a law suit for $5K. Not correct,” Phillip Arnold, Ike’s manager, issued in a statement to MemphisRap.com.
The proclaimed “Father of Rock n Roll” was recently awarded a 2007 Grammy Award for Best Traditional Blues Album for his newest compilation CD, “Risin’ with the Blues,” which was released September 14, 2006 on Zoho Roots Music label.
