The two reigning Queens of Memphis rap, Gangsta Boo and La Chat, have resurfaced on the scene with a new hip-hop duet remix of Three 6 Mafia’s song ”I’d Rather”. Boo tells MemphisRap.com that the two also have a collaboration album in the works.
Not only have they done this surprise duo single together but Gangsta Boo told MemphisRap.com that there is a possible album in the works featuring both Boo and La Chat together in collaboration.
“Me and Chat are very close, she knows alot about me,” Gangsta Boo told MemphisRap.com. “I know alot about her we are very cool and respect each other in a sister way… when it came down to finally doing an album together it was like a no brainer. Our fans hit us up on MySpace, run up on us in the streets like, “Yo when can we get a Chat and Boo album?” By popular demand we did it! Unplanned and all, Paul and Juicy wanted us to do it with them first… Paul offered me $10,000 back in 2001 or ’02 at the time and I didn’t think that was enough and I still don’t. Me and her are a Southern Combo Gumbo and we can get alot and make alot of money on our own Independent. I just made 10 stacks in Germany performing… I’m basically saying, I’m all about getting rich,” continued Gangsta Boo.
Gangsta Boo went on to state that she’s still working on her solo album in the midst of recording and prepping a album with La Chat.
“I am still putting out my solo album with Drum Squad called ‘For Ever Gangsta’ and I have changed my label name to Street Ringa Records,” stated Gangsta Boo.
Boo also spoke on her brother who will also soon be doing some recording with her as well and about how she plans to get “what [she] deserves”.
“My brother Lil’ Eric has an album coming out soon once he is released from jail,” stated Boo. “I am very active and I am a living Legend in the Industry and will get what I deserve… it’s not about who’s the fastest it’s about who wins the race, where I’m from losing is not an option.”
La Chat also has a new solo album dropping this year as well titled “Da Hood Homegirl” releasing on her new independent label Dime A Dozen. “Da Hood Home Girl” features artists Gangsta Boo, Murphy Lee, T-Rock, Criminal Manne, Yung Kee, Pastor Troy, Don Trip and production by D.J. Squeeky, KDubb, new producer Lil Lody and others.
