‘Pimp My Ride’ Host Xzibit, ”I Hate Rap Right Now.. Underground Hip-Hop Is Good”

According to reports rapper and MTV’s “Pimp My Ride” show host, Xzibit “Alvin Nathaniel Joiner IV” is hating on rap right now. Do you blame him?

According to reports rapper and MTV’s “Pimp My Ride” show host, Xzibit “Alvin Nathaniel Joiner IV” is hating on rap right now. Do you blame him? Right now the rapper has turned his ear to Amy Winehouse a British soul singer which he picked up her latest album and got a chance to listen to it in full just this past week. Amazed he was.

“I hate rap right now” states Xzibit. Underground hip-hop is good, but rap is just… whatever. I like Amy Winehouse. When I heard her record, I was floored (in awe). It’s music, real music. She’s from that era of Etta James and Billie Holiday, Miles Davis, even before Miles Davis. You know, that old, real soulful s**t. I think she’s got a good thing going.”

When he was asked about collaborating with the artist, Xzibit states, “No, I can appreciate music without trying to make it my own!”

Xzibit’s last album was “Full Circle”, which was released in October 2006. The rapper is expected to release “More Than Just A Game” in 2008, but has been stated to be more focused on acting than doing an album.
