Mission Impossible 3 and The Hunger Games actor, Philip Seymour Hoffman, was found dead of an apparent overdose in his apartment in New York City.
Authorities say on Sunday, a playwright and a friend became concerned when he did not show up to pick up his kids, which was unlike Hoffman.
Hoffman was found by the screenwriter and friend when they visited his apartment after becoming concerned.
The actor who reportedly struggled with drug problems was apparently found alone in his apartment bathroom in boxer shorts with a needle in his arms, sources say.
Authorities are still investigating his death, which details are still sketchy around the actual cause of death of the actor.
Hoffman was known as the arms dealers Owen Davian that sought out revenge on Ethan Hunt played by Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible 3. Philip Seymour Hoffman is also known for his performances and role in The Hunger Games scientific fiction adventure.
Philip Seymour Hoffman, 46, leaves behind three children (a son, Cooper Alexander Hoffman and two daughters, Tallulah Hoffman and Willa Hoffman).
