Memphis Tigers Basketball Team Honored By Mayor and City Council

The Memphis Tigers men’s basketball team was honored by City Council members on Tuesday, April 15, 2008.

Memphis Mayor Willie Herenton and the City Council members honored the Memphis Tigers men’s basketball team in a ceremony Tuesday, April 15 at City Hall’s City Council Chambers in Downtown Memphis for their record season.

The University of Memphis Tigers team set an NCAA record for having the most wins in a basketball season. Although the University of Memphis Tigers didn’t get a chance to move to NCAA Championship after losing a game loss to Kansas, they’re success and hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed.

The Tigers season ended with a record of 38-2 for 2007-2008.
