Memphis Mayor Herenton wants early voting suspended

Due to complaints from early voters at Bishop Byrne, Memphis Mayor Willie Herenton asks for federal monitors and suspension of early voting.

Wednesday there were two press conferences held downtown concerning voting. There were allegedly many complaints about the voting machines at Bishop Byrne High School, voters said that when they would press a candidates name that it would select a different candidate.

This obviously was a big problem and many blamed it on the candidates fixing voting machines to get falsely elected into office. Herenton would not give an amount of voters or names of voters that complained.

The running candidates in Memphis are Willie Herenton, Herman Morris, Carol Chumney, and John Willingham.
