A woman claiming to be the oldest daughter of deceased Godfather of Soul, James Brown is scheduled to appear in court Monday to plead her case of why she deserves a piece of the his estate. “I’ve been walking around looking like this man for 45 years,” said LaRhonda Petitt, a retired flight attendant and school teacher. “I’m not talking no negative talk, I’m talking about what’s right,” she commented to the Associated Press.

According to AP News, a judge will review details in the continuing legal battle over Brown’s will. Attorney Jim Griffin represents Petitt in the case for a part of her alleged father’s millions. Brown died at age 73 on Christmas day of heart failure. His last will and testament made provisions for only six adult children. However speculation has arisen with at least 3 other children claiming to be Brown’s and each one claims that DNA evidence will support them.

Petitt, a Houston native, commented that she would like all of Brown’s alleged children to take DNA testing to prove it. “Just because they’re in the will doesn’t mean they’re all my daddy’s children,” Petitt said.

A spokesperson for the Brown’s estate did not return phone calls and has failed to comment as of yet regarding this new turn of events.
