Michael Vick Sentenced to 23 Months

On Monday, a judge sentenced former Atlanta Falcons quarterback, Michael Vick, to 23 months in prison.

On Monday, a judge sentenced former Atlanta Falcons quarterback, Michael Vick, to 23 months in prison for illegal dogfighting.

The ex-Falcon is required to serve at least 85% of the sentence, which would be about 20 months. Early release would depend on several factors including his behavior while incarcerated.

Upon his release from prison, Vick will be on probation for up to three years. Terms of the probation will include supervised release and several social restrictions.

Vick is also facing state charges for the offense, for which he will stand trial on Apr. 2, 2008. At this time, Vick’s attorneys have not stated whether or not they will appeal the sentencing.
