8Shotz was born and raised on the south side of Chicago in the Jeffery Manor. He began rapping at the age of 8 and developed a knack for creative word-play. Growing up his influences included Jay-z, Kanye West, Juvenile, and Lil Wayne. 8Shotz put rap on hold for a while, while he obtained his bachelors degree from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. After feeling like something was missing he decided to put his efforts and passion back on the microphone.
8Shotz believes that he can be a major influence on the hip-hop scene without rapping about drugs and violence. Instead he focuses on music that makes people want to have fun and just enjoy life in general.

He is due to release his first EP in the Summer of 2013 entitled The Fire Within Vol.1. Summer Time Vibe is the first single to be released from the EP. Click on the link on the right to see the official video and full behind the scenes footage.
