The Rock and Juicy J Wake Up Call

Juicy J and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, who both started their careers in Memphis appeared on the TNT reality television series “Wake Up Call” on season 1 episode 6’s “Mason Family: Dad Dreams of Rapping.”

On the show, Memphis rapper and producer Juicy J spoke about coming up in Memphis during his rap career, selling his car to jump-start the career of Three 6 Mafia and more with host Dewayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

The Rock shared an Instagram post on how the two (Juicy J and he) started their careers in Memphis.

Juicy J was enlisted on the reality TV show to talk some sense into a father of three, who was putting his rap career ahead of his family’s needs.

The Mason Family was living out of a hotel because the rapping father simply was not dealing with his parental responsibilities as a father but was instead focusing on his rap career.

The Rock brought on the Academy Award winning Juicy J to hopefully meet with the father, Gary Mason, to talk some sense into him because Juicy definitely could relate to him coming up as an aspiring rap artist who came up in North Memphis.

Meeting at the Hit Factory Recording Studio in Miami, The Rock and Juicy J took a listen to the father and Juicy J was actually surprised at the father’s talent at rapping, but still it was time to have a serious talk about family.
