Yankees’ Derek Jeter Wants to Own A Team; Hopes To Learn From Michael Jordan

New York Yankees captain Derek Jeter came clean about wanting to own a team. Of course, he will not pursue this opportunity until he retires, but he is so excited of the thought in getting his ownership started.

Jeter says he wants to “Be like Mike” once his career is over and take sole or majority ownership of a sports franchise. Consistently stressing that he wants NO part of a small role, he was demanding in saying he wants to be in a position to run things.

“Oh yeah,” he said. “The only interest I have in ownership is to be able to call the shots. I’ve said that time and time again.”

Jeter knew Michael Jordan from the time of Jordan’s stint in the MLB and says he hopes to learn a lot from him.

Keep in mind that this 35-year old great is far from throwing in the old Louisville slugger.

“I’m going to play as long as I’m enjoying myself. I don’t really put limitations on too many things. I think when you start putting limitations out there, you’re in trouble,” Jeter said. “I’m having a blast right now playing, and I’m going to play for a long time. That’s the plan.”

Sounds like the sports franchises are headed in the right direction with these marvelous owners.
