The Streaking Uconn Women

The streaking University of Connecticut women are an exceptional bunch. Some of the most talented players to ever play at a collegiate level or better yet any level. It is said to make that whole team a wnba team and see how many titles they win. UCONN tied the record for the most consecutive wins which was 70 games. Get this the team they tied with is the 2001-2003 UCONN women. Isn’t that just fantastic they are tied with their own franchise? That lets you know what kind of basketball they are playing up there in Storrs,CT.

UCONN’s head coach Geno Auriemma said the streak is not important as the Huskies chase a 16th conference tournament title and a seventh national championship. “Let’s say we win tomorrow and lost Tuesday, what are the kids going to do, go to half court and put their fingers up and say, ‘We won 70, 71?'” Auriemma said. Yes,it is not important however they will rewrite history again.

Two of UCONN’s most valuable players are Maya Moore and Tina Charles. Moore a explosive dunker and Charles a scoring machine have stats that are off the charts. Charles had a normal night of 34pts and Moore chipped in with 16pts,14rebs. “I think that’s always the game plan, to get Tina the ball as much as possible,” said Maya. “We always try to look for each other and if I’m out on the perimeter or in the short corner, in the high post, I’m always going to look inside if she’s posting up there.”

UCONN winning 70 lopsided consecutive games by at least 10pts with an average of a 32pt victory got a huge 77-41 win against a great Syracuse team. Going for the tie-breaker of 71 games tommorrow against top ranked Notre Dame the UCONN huskies have to bring it once again. They better not stop there or let the excitement get to them they should go out there and play some ball the best way they know how.
