Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger Suspended for 6 Games; NFL Draft Trade?

NFL Commissioner Roger Goddell stated today that Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger will be suspended. The suspension is said to last for 6 games without pay for violating the NFL personal conduct policy.

Roethlisberger will also have to undergo a series of behavioral evaluations before he is eligible to return to the game of football. Ben may get the punishment reduced to 4 games with good behavior. During his suspension, Roethlisberger will lose about $2.8 million.

The NFL is not like the NBA, the games are only played on Sundays. With Ben’s 6 week suspension he will most likely miss almost half of the regular season unless Goddell cuts it to 4 weeks. Goddell felt that since Roethlisberger was not charged with the rape of the 20yr old from Florida last month, that he had no choice but to take the punishment in his own hands. The Question of the day is “Do you think 6 weeks is enough?” Keep in mind this is the 2nd rape that he was accused of.

The City of Pittsburgh has had enough of Ben, but has the franchise become fed up yet?

The NFL draft is tomorrow and there is no secret that Roethlisberger is involved in a lot of trade talks. We will have to just take a seat and wait to see what transpires.
