Memphis Grizzlies Upset Over Denver Nuggets; Next, Oklahoma City Thunder

The Memphis Grizzlies had a tough night as they fell 123-101 to the Denver Nuggets. Memphis just could not get it going. It was a game from the 1st quarter and the start of the 2nd quarter.

Even though Memphis Guard Mike Conley was ‘the man’ out there, you can tell midway through the 2nd quarter that this was clearly going to be a blowout. The Denver Nuggets went on a 20-6 run to hold off Memphis, and it kept getting worse.

“I didn’t like nothing about the whole game,” Lionel Hollins said. “They pretty much had a party here. A going-away party. The last game for the fans. They had a party with it.”

Coach Hollins was upset pretty early. In the 2nd quarter, the ball was swatted out of bounds into the crowd by Denver player Kenyon Martin over the Grizzlies bench. When Martin went to get the ball back, Coach Hollins swatted the ball back into the crowd and walked away.

This was a game of frustration from start to finish with the Grizzlies. Memphis’s Star forward Zach Randolph was ejected for mouthing off after picking up his 5th foul. He was hit with double technicals in the 3rd quarter and escorted off the court.

The Grizzlies moved to 40-41 with a chance today to break even against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The game will air on ESPN tonight, it will be the 1st of a double header.
