Last night at a sold-out FedExForum, Memphis Grizzlies beat the Miami Heat 97-95, coming off a five game losing streak, as Rudy Gay hit a buzzer beating game-winner shot over the arm of Miami Heat’s LeBron James.
In a game where both regular starters Zach Randolph and OJ Mayo didn’t start, or play 1st quarter, for being late to the mandatory shoot around, things still turned up a good day for Randolph (at least) landing 21 points and 13 rebounds, not to mention his near end-of-game block of Lebron’s shot and layup off an offensive rebound increasing the Grizzlies lead to three at 93-90 with less than two minutes remaining. Mayo, on the other hand, made his sole basket at a near end-of-game basket putting the game at 91-90 with 2:15 left to go. Rudy Gay, who scored the take home winning shot after first turning over the ball making the game a tie contest at 95-95, scored 15 points in the Memphis Grizzlies over Miami Heat game, after hitting the buzzer beater, game winning shot over LeBron James. Grizzlies now move to 5-9 on the season with this win over the Heat, and Memphis Grizzlies play Detroit Pistons next Nov 24 7:00pm CST at the FedExForum.
