Former University of Memphis star Joey Dorsey Signed to the Toronto Raptors

With the 33rd overall pick in the 2008 NBA draft, the Portland Trailblazers selected Memphis’ own Joey Dorsey. Ever since then, Joey has struggled to find a home in the NBA. Traded on draft day to the Houston Rockets and then sent up to the D-league, Dorsey has experienced a lot in his 2yrs in the league.

On February 18th, the 26yr old power forward was on the move again in a 3-team trade that landed him with the Sacramento Kings.

Joey played in 15 games with no starts in his 2yr on and off career. The former University of Memphis star became a free agent last week after being waived by the Kings. It seems that Dorsey has a attitude problem and was bringing the team down with his dislike of the Kings trade.

After hearing of his waive, the Toronto Raptors had cap space and offered him a contract for the remainder of the season.

You have to bring a good attitude in all that you do. You may not like the trades or situations, but always understand that this is a business and things like this happen all the time. He just started his career, we do not want to see the young fella fall off because of his attitude. No one would want to work with him if he is proven to be a cancer to the team. I always say a smile is your greatest accessory.
