Abbotsford Heat Coach Jim Playfair Has Meltdown With Hockey Stick!

In the Abbotsford Heats 4-0 lost against the Hamilton Bulldogs, tempers flared all around. Abbotsford’s coach Jim Playfair had an outrageous blow up on the sideline.

Upset that one of his players J.D. Watt received a penalty, Playfair started in on one of the referees. While on the court, Watt ran into Hamilton’s goaltender Cedrick Desjardins while trying to get the puck. For this, Desjardins was given a 5-minute penalty for charging and 10-minute game conduct.

Watt, frustrated thinking he should have received only 2-minutes, started to get ‘angrier’ and was escorted off the court by the linesman.

Infuriated by the call, coach Playfair started to lash out at Jamie Koharski (the referee).

Not only did he blurt out harsh words, but also grabbed a hockey stick out of a player’s hand and started to smash the boards.

You would think that he would stop there but, NO, he did not. Playfair then ripped off his blazer and tried to enter the ice. Of course, he was given a 2-minute bench minor for abusive language and a 10-minute game conduct.

Wow, no one knew that minor league hockey could get so intense.
