Yo Gotti Arrested on Aggravated Riot, Released on Bond in Nightclub Shooting

Rapper Yo Gotti was arrested and charged with aggravated riot after turning himself in to authorities on yesterday evening (Dec 13) following an arrest warrant being issued for the rapper in connection with the multiple gun shooting at Level II Nightclub in Memphis, Tennessee, which occurred on last week, as reported on MemphisRap.com’s Hip Hop Blog on yesterday.

Yo Gotti, real name Mario Mims, 29, newly signed to J Records, along with local underground rapper O.G. Boo Dirty, real name Lance N. Taylor, 24, were both issued warrants by Memphis authorities after an alleged fight occurred after hours in the East Memphis parking lot of popular hotspot, Level II Nightclub, following ‘Swagged Out Sundays’ night.

Meanwhile, the rapper’s manager Artemis “Peppa” Williams, claims there is no ongoing ‘hip hop beef’ with rapper O.G. Boo Dirty, as speculated, and says Yo Gotti does not know Taylor, reports Commercial Appeal.

Along with Yo Gotti, three others — Howard S. Greer, Kenneth Mason, 19, and Vernon McClendon, 28 — were all charged with aggravated riot.

MemphisRap.com has learned that rapper Yo Gotti was released shortly after his arrest on a $1,000 bond and is due back in court today (Dec. 14) at 8A.M. this morning.

The rapper’s attorneys are confident their client’s name will be cleared of any wrongdoing.

Yo Gotti’s debut album on J Records entitled “Live from the Kitchen” is slated for release on January 25, 2011. The rapper just recently released his new track “We Can Get It On” featuring Ciara. Others expected to feature on Yo Gotti’s “Live from the Kitchen” are Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, Lupe Fiasco, Young Jeezy and others.
