An unidentified man is claiming to be a surviving witness of the 2012 Boston shooting which left two men dead.

The man claims to recognize former NFL star, New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez as the shooter in the double murder.

This unidentified witness, who is remaining anonymous in fear for his safety, claims he recognized him after Hernandez was arrested in June 2013 in connection with the shooting death of 27-year-old semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd.

The alleged witness claims to have survived the 2012 shooting in downtown Boston and remembers the face of Aaron Hernandez as the shooter who killed Daniel Jorge Correia de Abreu and Safiro Furtado on July 15, 2012.

The alleged witness says the shooting “happened so fast” that he was just trying to defend himself as “they were shooting everywhere inside the car, front to back.”

A vehicle matching the description seen by witnesses at the time of the crime – a grey SUV with Rhode Island plates – was towed from Hernandez’s uncle’s house in June 2013, according to reports.

New charges have not been filed against Hernandez since reports of this new alleged witness.
