Former UFC champion ‘Rampage’ Jackson from Memphis, TN was arrested and released on 25K bail for an allegedly hit-and-run and police chase in Newport Beach, CA.
UFC mixed martial arts light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, 30, from Memphis, TN who’s residing in Irvine, CA was involved in a hit and run on Tuesday after allegedly evading police with his Ford truck which displayed the name and picture of the marital artist on the side along with sponsors logos on the side panels. Rampage reportedly fled the scene in the pickup truck that bore his image then later struck three more cars during a chase that ended with him striking another vehicle and blowing a tire which brought the alleged pursuit to an end. Police received the report of the incident which occurred on 55 Freeway onto Newport Boulevard.
Quinton “Rampage” Jackson was charged with felony hit and run and felony evading arrest and booked in Orange County Jail by Costa Mesa Police in Newport Beach. He was later released on $25,000 bail late Tuesday night. A court date is scheduled for August 15 at Harbor Justice Center in Laguna Niguel where he will face the charges. There were no injuries reported in the incidents.
In other news, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson lost his UFC light heavyweight title last week to Forrest Griffin on July 5, 2008. Both fighters were a part of “The Ultimate Fighter” season seven.
