Tumblr Site Down, Celebrity & High Profile Blogs Offline: Beyonce, Obama for America

Tumblr is down for the count as it is going through what Tumblr engineers report as network issues. The micro-blogging platform and social networking website has been having issues for approximately two hours which first started with users experiencing slow loads.

According to Tumblr, they have taken the site offline in order to resolve the network issue and will update as soon as they know more.

On last week, Tumblr users reported being hacked and having spam posts in their dashboard which were reportedly due to the anti-blogging group GNNA (Gay N—er Association of America). GNNA state their name is not to be racist or homophobic, but believes that blogging is lowering journalistic standards and is protesting blogs.

The hack is stated to have been a cyber worm and infected several Tumblr accounts including high-profile accounts which were later resolved.

Tumblr returned with, “Tumblr engineers have resolved the issue of the viral post attack that affected a few thousand Tumblr blogs earlier today.”

Tumblr is home to more than 83 million blogs which include Beyonce, USA Today, Obama for America, etc.
